Dr. Anish Thakkar is originally from NYC, and is an audiophile as well as a semi-professional musician. Dr. Thakkar is a proud alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he double-majored in International Studies & Japanese. After a brief career in freelance translation and education, he moved to sunny San Diego to earn the Au.D. at UC San Diego & San Diego State University. He completed his residency at the UNC Hearing & Communication Center, worked abroad in Tokyo, then returned to California to work at a private practice in Oakland and launch Soundscape Audiology in SF. He then brought his talents to LA in conjunction with the Los Angeles Center for Hearing & Balance. 

While he misses the Bay Area, LA County is starting to feel like home. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, concerts, teaching tennis, language exchange, and playing the dhol – a North Indian folk drum. Dr. Thakkar enjoys taking the time getting to know each and every patient, in order to craft a customized solution for maximum audibility & overall benefit. And lowkey loves removing earwax from patients' ears!

Good intentions to keep ears clean may be risking your ability to hear. The ear is a delicate and intricate area, including the skin of the ear canal & ESPECIALLY the eardrum.
